Hi Gilles,

I was maybe radical in my last email but there are for me
now several reasons to prefer
emacs + speechd-el + speech dispatcher + festival + FranFest
+ mbrola
to emacspeak. At least :

- First since freebsoft was developed by Czech speakers
it is design to be multilingual. Emacspeak was dedicated to
english and it is difficult to adapt it.

- Secondly speechd-el is implemented in a more modern way
hence more modular etc ...

- Finally you certainly know that it was extremely
difficult to have contacts with emacspeak developers
whereas it is very easy to talk with Milan to improve
features in speechd-el.

If you are interested in a French/English version of
emacs + speechd-el / etc .... I am working on it know.
Only a few lines of lisp/scheme codes should be
written.

Moreover it is reasonably possible to use the high level
modules of emacspeak (i.e. modules above emacspeak-speak)
with speechd-el. I may be appreciated by people who
are used to work with emacspeak. I cannot insure that
I will do that very soon.

Finally Roger Mampey and I think that it would be a
reasonable goal to make FranFest compatible with the
speech dispatcher.

Bests

Pierre
