I just got a new broadband connection in here last Thursday, and I had the opposite problem. However, the fix seems to be almost the same.
I couldn't send out mail. I called a friend and he told me the name of the smtp mail server on this new system and I just changed it and it all works right now. If you are having problems with your vm getting mail from the new servers, the problem is that you need to tell it about them. You need to read the documentation on vm which is available with a c-h i. Use the m option to get a menu option and enter vm. Here you will find out all you need to do to change the names of the servers you are using. It seems that you need to go into your ~/.vm file and make sure you have all the names of the servers, user names and login passwords you need. You need to be sure if the servers you are receiving from are pop imap or whatever. In the manual for vm, you will find all the info you need on making the appropriate changes. If you need additional assistance, I will be more than glad to help you. Hope this helps. -- Doug Smith: C.S.F.C.
