As far as I know, and I have done this before the installer was released, it is possible to put the one large KNOPPIX file from the KNOPPIX directory of the cd onto a partition of the hard drive then start it off with a boot floppy.
Why would you want to do this other than to use another person's computer? In this case, only the cd is really necessary unless this machine will not boot from the cd. If this is the case, you can run the boot floppy and even use it to start off the cd. Hope this helps. -- Doug Smith: C.S.F.C.
