Hi Doug,

I use yasr frequently but mostly with plain bash to run command line
programs. The only curses application I use regularly with yasr is
"mocp" to play audio files. Also it is useful to diagnose problems
with emacspeak when it loses speech. I had little luck
with other applications. I would really like to get "mc" working.

The speech rate can be set in the ~/.yasr.conf file to values > 250. I
would guess that the amount of punctuation spoken at the different
levels also depends on the tts used.

If you get confused and want to return to a well defined state, you
can press Alt-ScrollLock-k (magic sys-request) to kill everything on the
current terminal
and return to the login screen. I am not shure what this does on
Oralux, but I guess it returns you to the initial menu, thus you won't
at least have to restart the machine. Also, it can be handy to have
more than one session of yasr on different terminals, so when one
gets messed up, you can switch to another and kill the dead one.

Lukas
