Well, hmm. I'm quite sure I get a boot: prompt, and get past the prompt,
but according to the sighted person monitoring the screen for me, it doesn't
get past 'loading kernel...'.
I'll try it again and see, however.
Thank you for your help.
Zack.

Subject: [Oralux] Oralux 0.7.4 appears to freeze at boot?
Ok, when you first boot up Oralux, there is a short time when the disk
will turn. What is happening there is that a small block of code is
loading. This little piece of code, according to what is described on
the faq places a prompt on the screen saying
boot:
This is the indication that Oralux is ready for to enter cheatcodes,
as we call them, which are codes to tell the system what boot
parameters we want.
This delay lasts for 30 seconds. If you want to skip the 30-second
delay, just hit the return key and Oralux will continue to boot. It
takes several minutes for all the system stuff to get loaded and
running properly.
Be sure to listen closely as you will hear the system ask you to set
up the volume and your other preferences with the menu of recorded
messages it plays when it starts up for the first time.
Now, if a sighted user is there, you might want to enter, at that
boot: prompt, the code knoppix testcd
This will test the majority of necessary files on the disk to see if
it is recorded properly. If anything fails there, you will need to
re-download the iso and burn a new copy.
Hope this helps.
