If you are talking about a boot *floppy* disc...
New kernel doesn't fit onto a single floppy.
So, now it is impossible to make a bootable floppy containing new kernal
(in case, if a bios is not able to boot from a CDROM drive).
I see the only one way out: using a floppy containing SBM.
