The example I derived my code from was the xforms.repeat example.
Diligently comparing it with my code (which I should have done before leaping
into the mail list - apologies to all), revealed the problem - I had accidentally
removed the element


       <xforms:submission id="formSubmit" method="post"/>

from the view while adding other features.

Restoring it solved the problem. The dialog 'The document contains no data'"
appears no more.

The UBL example is rather large and complex, for the purposes of comparison with my application, so I'll dig a little deeper into my problem and try to get a concise test case together (during which effort I will probably discover what I'm doing wrong :) ).
