Encyclia (now Euchile) citrina is a complex of at least three sp. Mexican taxonomists are now studying this complex. The most common form in cultivation is E. karwinskii.

I'm new to this impassioned list and have a question. Hopefully one of you
will have an answer.
I have two Encyclia citrinas in bloom, one with a yellow (lemon) lip which
becomes gold and ruffled at the apex. The other, awarded an AM several years
ago, has a white border on the ruffled lip. Is it usual to have two color
forms? Thanks, Sue Golan
