Aaron, if you don't mind wire (1 pair), you can make a PC readable termperature sensor out of the Dallas DS18S20 that cost about 5 bucks US and maybe a RS323 chip for another 8.

While not 'off the shelf' I simply soldered the pins together and encapsulated it in epoxy.
