Alexander Kocyan is looking for material of some Indian Aerides species for research. Please email Alex directly if you are able to help. He needs a leaf sample stored in silica gel and some flowers preserved in alcohol. His email is shown below. ---------------------------------------------------- Gary Yong Gee http://www.yonggee.name ----------------------------------------------------
"My interest is a scientific one, I have produced a molecular phylogeny of this genus, currently I am writing on the paper dealing with this issue. However, I have been able to get most species of Aerides, with the sad exception of the Indian species Aerides crispum, A. ringens, A. emericii and A. maculosum. Well, of course you may imagine what question I have. Do you have any material of these species at hand or do you know a source from I could get? Working molecularvise I would need a piece of a leaf and some flowers in alcohol (in the worst case a good photograph would help me as well).
"I would be very thankful if could help. If you have any further questions, please do hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerly, Alex Kocyan" ------------------------------------------------ Dr. Alexander Kocyan Post-doctoral Research Assistant Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich Institute of Systematic Botany Menzinger Strasse 67 D-80638 Munich Germany
