Dennis Westler's eloquent contribution in Vol 6/33,
as well as the various follow-ups were most welcome.
Creationism seems to me to be the refuge of those
who are lazy of thought.
My own penny's worth includes:
Firstly, biology only makes any sense when viewed
against a backdrop of evolutionary theory.
Secondly, I see God as the force that rearranged a
few molecules at the Big Bang, knowing that by doing this, He had set in motion
a chain of events that would lead to the formation of this wonderful Earth,
amongst a myriad of other wonders. Evolution therefore is the manifestation of
God's Breath. Surely attributing to God the much lesser job of dealing with
the nuts and bolts of the contents of the Earth, is to sell Him so very
short.
