"PARIS, March 11 (Itar-Tass) - The 18th conference on orchid cultivation opened in Dijon, France, on Friday. For the first time France plays host to the world conference on flower cultivation held every three years. A unique collection of orchids has been displayed in the framework of the international flower show.
Orchids of 25 studied sorts have become increasingly popular in countries of the European Union. The recent public opinion polls showed that in the near future orchids might surpass traditional roses in the volume of market sale.
Therefore, the Dijon conference focused on commercial issues, including the creation of a European network for orchid retail and wholesale trade."
