I have had Cypridedium pubescens and reginae growing on the edge of my
back yard for about 10 years now. Light to heavy shade under oak trees,
heavy dark soil, near bog or swamp conditions for the pubescens, the
reginae is on the bank of a small seasonal creek. We are in Northern
Illinois USA.
They both bloom every year and have grown into a couple of nice clumps.
