In all innocence, I bought an orchid labeled Pteroceras semiteretifolium (Pedersen, 1992). It was thought to be a new species. Staggering through IPNI, I stumbled on the notation that Sarcochilus uniflorus Gagnepain (1933) is the replaced synonym of Pteroceras semiteretifolium. MBG W3Tropicos doesn't list P. semiteretifolium at all. Am I correct in assuming that this means Mr. Pedersen didn't do his homework (like Garay with Onc. "stacyi"), and the correct name is Sarcochilus uniflorus?
I am anxiously waiting your sage reply before I print a label.
Iris
