Hi all,

Ok, I told myself I wouldn't post any more on this topic, but I guess my
skin isn't quite thick enough. Harvey insists on implying that we (Joe and
I) made some sort of promise to the orchid community to have a particular
product available by a certain date. No such promise was ever made. What
we did was propose a timetable to the AOS leadership for the development of
a certain product. This timetable depended in part on receiving certain
deliverables from the AOS--you just can't scan magazines that you don't
have, and there is also the matter of having the work reviewed by the AOS
leadership, which as Harvey well knows is a process that moves at a stately
pace. For whatever reason (I am not trying to cast blame) we have not
received the materials in the time frame proposed, and therefore the work
has not progressed as quickly as originally proposed (not promised).

What I will say is that all the material we have received has been scanned,
the index is progressing, the interface for viewing and searching the
magazines is complete, and as we get more of the physical material, we are
processing it. No promise was made to the orchid community, and I believe
that this project was not even publicly announced by the AOS, so Harvey,
quit making it sound like we have let the world down.
