I searched  OrchidWiz and found that Paph. (Maudiae x venustum) was registered in 1943 as  Paph Mauven.  A Google "Picture" search brought up a picture of Paph. Mauven from _www.lonestarorchids.com

Thank you very much for your help. The picture of Mauven shows a rather ordinary looking coloratum form. They list the parents as Maudiae 'Magnificum', FCC/AOS x venustum "album" (presumably var. measuresianum). So the albino chromosomes in the two parents are not alleles. This is like the well documented situation in the Cattleya alliance.
I was hoping to get a nice albino Maudiae type with some yellow coloring and a marbled pouch. Obviously it would not happen, so I will not make the cross. Once again it proves that you should never pick up the toothpick without doing your homework.
