In the Kew database [World checklist of selected plant families], Bulbophyllum blumei (Lindl.) J.J.Sm. is the accepted name for the species. Bulbophyllum masdevalliaceum Kraenzl. is considered a synonym. Some of our experts in residence might consider that they are different species.
