People complain that S. cernua and L. tenebrosa can't be in the same genus
because their size & appearance are so different. Now I am no fan of calling
the
Brazilian Laelias Sophronitis. But consider the variation in Canis
familiaris. That is not just one genus, it's one species. Between a teacup
poodle and a
mastiff, the size variation is over 100 to one. And you know the variation in
color, shape, hair, etc. This diversity took place in a relatively short
time, at the hand of man. Who knows what variation can be achieved in a few
eons
by the hand of God?
Let's wait and see.
Iris
