"An overgrown patch of Tring Park will get a total overhaul... thanks to a
cash boost...

Officers from the Woodland Trust have begun to remove scrub and bushes
which have invaded 37 acres of grassland in the park.

The project, expected to take three years, has been made possible by a
grant of £17,715 from the SITA Trust, which works to support community and
environmental improvement projects through the Landfill Communities Project.

... cattle... will be living on the scarp slopes helping to ensure the
survival of rare grassland plant species.

The park, which covers a total of almost 265 acres and is a designated Site
of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), has been managed by the Woodland
Trust since 1993.

It is home to... rare plant species like the Pyramidal Orchid and the Bee
Orchid...

The trust hopes these plants will spread out into the newly cleared area."
