Ok, it is embedded. But the host is shared as well so what are the typical memory sizes that you suggest? I mean what if the host has 128GB of RAM... are you suggesting that the cache be set at over 100GB? More realistically what if I just use 1GB of ram? What will happen when 1GB is reached? Is OrientDB performing proper memory management or will the server crash?
Currently the off heap usage is growing over time from ~0.2GB to 3.0GB at which time it becomes unresponsive so I'm not sure if the memory is properly managed. The usage on those servers is very consistent and relatively constant so i wouldn't expect much change.
