In her reply Sara Adams related Dennis Walker's technique for wrapping CD cases with the one shown in Eric Kenneway's Complete Origami. Dennis replied confirming this and crediting the creator of the technique as Kunio Ekiguchi.
Is Kunio Ekiguchi really the creator of this technique? I don't have the book but according to its review in Gilad's Origami Page the creator is unknown: http://www.giladorigami.com/BO_CompleteOrigami.html Sara also mentioned no one ever commented on her wrapped gifts using this technique. I know what you mean about not receiving comments despite doing something different to wrap a gift. My friends and family were only amazed with my first creations, after that, it didn't matter what I did... it stopped being so amazing. But what I really dislike is when they return me the box, envelope, wrapping... I folded after they take out the gift. I just think it's weird they do that... I would get they would save it, use it to give something to someone else, or even just throw it away. ...anyways =P
