Arlene and I have made plans to attend the MFPP's 25th Rencontres de Mai, May
29th-June 1st, near Colmar, Alsace. We had attended the 2012 convention in
Angouleme. While there, we got to see the wonderful exposition of Joisel's
work. We had a good time and are looking forward to returning.

You forgot to mention the four wonderful guest of honor for the convention:
Carmen Sprung, Joan Sallas, Juan Gimeno,  and Michel Grand. We have met 3 out
of the 4 guests.

We have met Carmen at many conventions over the years. We have loved her
models. The website show a wonderful model "Lucy" which I would like to learn.
Her book 21 Stars has been an instant success. We will be seeing her later at
Centerfold this summer.

Joan Sallas first came to our attention when he was guest of honor at a BOS
convention and then at an  OUSA  convention. He was doing hats. He has a book
on making origami hats and how to scale them to size. At one point, he was
folding toilet paper tubes (the Japanese paper tubes were of better quality
than the German - but the US tubes were better than both.). He has gained fame
as an origami historian of Napkin and medieval folds. He has wonderful sense of
humor.

I have not met Juan Gimeno. I have know his origami models for over 25 years. I
had written to him over 10 years ago but lost contact - he only spoke "Tonto"
English as he phrased it. I have wanted to meet him for years.

We met Michel Grand in Angouleme. He is know for his letter folding models and
knowledge. We enjoyed his company.
