Hi all,
L. Mahadevan, a professor at Harvard, created an algorithm that computesa
folding pattern using the Miura-ori to make virtually any shape to any degree
of accuracy.
Details are in his paper (which has neat pictures) published in Nature
Materials:

Apparently, one can specify how difficult to make the folding, though the less
difficult, the lessaccurate the model will be to the desired shape.
Best,Ken
