Dear O-listers:

I want to know who is the author of a unit which I have known for years as a "classic".

It is a modular unit similar to Sonobe's unit, but with equilateral triangles.
The version I am asking about starts with a 1:sqrt(3) rectangle (bronze rectangle).

The final shape and the assembly looks exactly like the final drawing of this diagram by Martin Hunt:

but the folding sequence is much easier due to the initial 1:sqrt(3) proportion (start joining opposite corners to get the perpendicular bisector of the diagonal of the rectangle, and really little more work remains to be done).

It is also quite similar to the "Chain of four equilateral triangles" by Lewis Simon & Bennet Arnstein, from a square (in the "Modular Origami Polyhedra" book), but without the locking tab.

Due to this last similarity, I am inclined to believe that it might be Lewis Simon's design, but of course I might be wrong. I hope some O-lister knows.

Should anybody know, please tell me.

All the best!
