MUSEO DEL ORIGAMI VIDEOLIBRARY: "A WHIP-SPIDER NAMED ‘ORIGAMI'"

(In Spanish with English Subtitles)

Andrés Sánchez, a Colombian biologist who lives in Buenos Aires and is a
CONICET postdoctoral fellow, tells us how a species of arachnid has just
received the name of Heterophrynus origamii. Although it looks like a spider,
technically it is not; it belongs to a different order: the Amblypygi. The
species was studied by a friend of Andrés who named it "origamii" in honor of
Andrés' passion for folding paper, since it was Andrés who found it in Colombia
and handed it over for scientific study.
