Hello, my name is James Leehealey and I am currently a senior at Corona Del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California. My school requires that each student pursues an interest in the form of a passion project, which involves consulting with a mentor of the desired field. I have long since been driven by the allure of origami, and thus have decided to try and learn how to design complex origami as the goal of my project. I am currently very familiar with folding from crease patterns and have designed several box pleated models, however, I would like to take a step further in my journey and shadow someone with more expertise. This could be in-person, online, or a combination of both. As for the aggregate time, it would be 15 to 20 hours of shadowing over the course of 5 months, and I was wondering if there is anybody around Orange County or LA that would be willing to fill the role.
