The current issue of IEEE Spectrum magazine (which I regularly read in my previous life, and still receive) has in its current July 2026 issue a “Hands On” article titled “Make an Origami Circuit Board.”
https://spectrum.ieee.org/origami-circuit-boards It’s pretty cool: you impregnate the paper with a potentially conductive material, and then the act of folding makes it conductive. Add batteries, LEDs, and/or motors, and you’ve got some pretty cool origami widgets. Interesting that here the fold pattern’s function is to generate the electrical traces, versus creating the folded form. But the idea looks like it has possibilities. Robert
