No examples of client demarcated transactions...

I just did a grep for all the source code which came with Orion, and there
are NO examples of client demarcated transactions.  Would someone be so kind
to post an example of how a client can obtain a transaction?  I tried to
sample code in the J2EE spec, but it did not work.
