Sun only has one application server who they made and that is the reference implementation :) so they where first :)

 

but the reference implementation is not certified...

Its not sold either :), its a light weight server for developers to test their code on.

 

Its the code you get if you licence J2EE from Sun, and its the code the testsuite is built upon, btw I wonder how long it will take before they have a reference implementation on EJB2.0 :), this should take a while because of the major changes, amongst other things EJBQL..
