D. W. Engels' water estimates for Alexander's
Macedonian Army daily water ration were in the
Imperial 160 ounce 10 pound gallon of four
40 ounce quarts not the lesser Wine 128 ounce
8 pound gallon of four 32 ounce quarts adopted
by the American British Colonies before
disassociation.

Two 40 ounce quarts of water on a daily march
seems lavish. I might have enough left over
for the cook doing my daily mash.
