Before we do that, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to introduce the notion of cluster groups in OSCAR. I am not sure whether this is generally the case but right now our Oscar server is actually maintaining a hetereogenous cluster (BladeCenter and some older IBM 1Us) and that is why I wanted them divided up into different groups in the C3 conf.

Potentially, this could also be used for Ganglia installation where some nodes belong to different data_source, or in PBS where they have different 'properties'.

What do you guys think?

Cheers,

Bernard

This is indeed the behaviour of the current C3 post_install. File a

Is there a way to prevent Oscar from blowing away my custom C3

I'm not sure which script one blew it away, but it is probably one of the
post install scripts.

Yep, probably... whichever script, one of them is responsible. I'd put in a feature request on the OSCAR SF site. Or a bug maybe? Not blowing away user customizations is kind of important.
