Is this being done currently? If not, then the code in OSCAR that sets up the environment needs to be fixed. How long are clients set to wait? Maybe that needs to be tuned. I've always expected that I can select multicast in the appropriate places, netboot my machines and they should just work... but they aren't actually getting anything as far as I can tell, just an endless stream of dots printing out on the console. We've been claiming multicast support for a long time with nobody actually seeing a successful multicast install except for you, Brian. Is something not being set up correctly? Is it our network? Is it the flamethrower/udpcast code? Is it just a matter of us not waiting long enough? According to the manual you refer to, the process is failing somewhere around step 4, 5, or 6. Please look at this, because multicast is a very important feature for OSCAR. It seems like you've ignored multiple past questions/comments/e-mails about the issue, always passing it off with a "works for me" comment, but I hope this can be resolved this time.
