NFS should work ok with Fedora-2 unless there are other problems that
are preventing it from getting set up correctly. I have personally
never had any problems with NFS that weren't due to incorect network
setup on my part. That doesn't mean it isn't possible though! :)

Is localhost in the same line as the nfs_server alias on the head
node? This can propagate out to the nodes and confuse the nodes into
thinking they are the servers and would cause NFS not to work. I
would think it wouldn't work if mounted by hand either though.

Did you fix the modprobe.conf file? This shouldn't affect nfs, but I
am not sure what the auto generated one does since mine have never
worked at all. Again, this generally just makes the network cards not
come up, so the hand mounting shouldn't work either.

Did you check the /etc/fstab on the nodes? It would be very odd if
they were wrong, but its worth checking.

I assume you have tried rebooting the head node and the client nodes.
Shouldn't mater, but its always worth a try.

It shouldn't be an issue on install, but boot order is important too.
I frequently forget and boot my head and nodes at the same time.
Since the nodes usually finish booting before the nfs server starts
up, they don't mount the home dirs correctly.

Thats all the NFS related ideas I can come up with, and most are
fairly far fetched. If they don't help, could you send the
oscarinstall.log file and a bit more information about your hardware?
