Dear David,

I'm concerned about SGE, as Bernard didn't indicate he had a lot done -- suggesting that all the OSCAR infrastructure we have that's too, too PBS/Torque centric will need some tweaking. I don't want to see you get bogged down in that and risk the stipend--especially given your list of 10 packages above.

Anyway, welcome to OSCAR!

First, thank you all for your kind suggestions.
I've heard some mentor on google's summer-discuss list saying (on his behalf) that since this project seems to be educational, his final evaluation wouldn't be strict on the sense that the student completed this or that etc... There seems to be an opinion that the purpose of the program is getting students together with experienced OSS developers, and that the students come up with something that is different from junk :) For example there's a question on the faq stating that the mentor organization doesn't have to use student's code.
I think you guys knows google's rules better than me,
and I admit I have much more expertise in the biopackages.. but I like SGE's concept a lot. So even if by September 1st, 2005 SGE is not 100%, its up to you to say to google to give my stipend... I think leaving SGE on my application is better than leaving it off, don't you?

Well, thank you for welcoming me... Now I must learn subversion to mirror here in my notebook...
