Hey guys:

I just installed the OSCAR nightly tarball on CentOS 4, and it worked
like a charm. I believe this should work for ALL RHEL4 clones - Props
goes to David Isaacson for coming up with the idea.

I'm going to outline the steps I took for CentOS 4 install:

1) Install CentOS 4 on headnode
2) Choose workstation install
3) After installation complete, copy all the RPMs from all *4* CDs to
/tftpboot/rpm
4) Download redhat-release SRPM from Red Hat's ftp server
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/4/en/os/i386/SRPMS/redh
at-release-4AS-2.src.rpm
5) Rebuild it by issuing 'rpmbuild --rebuild
redhat-release-4AS-2.src.rpm'
6) rpm -Uvh redhat-release-4AS-2.i386.rpm --force
7) Copy redhat-release-4AS-2.i386.rpm to /tftpboot/rpm

... continue with regular OSCAR installation.

This however, will throw off yum when doing updates...

Cheers,

Bernard
