The exact error message, I'm sorry I don't remember -- but it takes about 15 minutes to go through the entire list of possible boot clients then it fails -- it would previously zip through that list, find the default, and start installing. (I found a couple of other people who described the problem in the archive, but there were never solutions -- one guy described it then followed up saying it was now working but didn't explain.)
Here is the folders -- note that I am currently installing node 15 (0xF) so I assume that is why there are entries for all the other nodes, but none yet for my new one (so it picks up the default) [EMAIL PROTECTED] tftpboot]# ls -l total 15924 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jul 1 20:57 distro lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 38 Jul 12 11:25 initrd.img -> /tftpboot/install-initrd-fc-5-i386.img -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14344479 Jul 12 11:25 install-initrd-fc-5-i386.img -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1800968 Jul 12 11:25 install-kernel-fc-5-i386 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 34 Jul 12 11:25 kernel -> /tftpboot/install-kernel-fc-5-i386 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 215 Nov 4 2005 kernel-x -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 47 Nov 4 2005 localboot -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 75 Nov 4 2005 memtest86 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 81860 Nov 4 2005 memtest86+-1.26 drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Jul 1 21:44 oscar -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 13100 Jul 12 11:25 pxelinux.0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jul 12 11:25 pxelinux.cfg drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jul 1 22:54 replaced [EMAIL PROTECTED] pxelinux.cfg]# pwd; ls -l /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg total 8 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC100002 -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC100003 -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC100004 -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC100005 -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC100006 -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC100007 -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC100008 -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC100009 -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC10000A -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC10000B -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC10000C -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC10000D -> ../localboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 12 01:28 AC10000E -> ../localboot -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1297 Jul 12 11:25 default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 691 Jul 12 11:25 message.txt Brad Aisabaisa at brad-aisa dot com ----- Original Message ---- From: Bernard Li <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Brad Aisa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; oscar devel <[email protected]> Cc: Erich Focht <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, July 12, 2006 12:00:22 PM Subject: RE: can't load image anymore after pxe boot What error message did you get, and can you show the contents of /tftpboot ?
