FYI -- I got an error from the ssh-check.pl script saying that  
"PermitRootLogin" must be set to "yes".  However, my system allows a  
root ssh login without this option being set to yes.

My $0.02: if you're going to check this option, then you should  
really check to see if root can do a login -- not if the option file  
is set one way or another.  There can be compile-time defaults that  
make setting this option to "yes" irrelevant.
