The default package list for oscar and suse 10.3 has an invalid kernel rpm in the list: kernel-smp.
kernel-smp doesn't exist, so the image created from this ends up having no kernel at all. The problem was observed after imaging a node and finding that systemconfigurator couldn't install the boot loader. For my testing, I changed kernel-smp to kernel-default in /opt/oscar/oscarsamples/suse-10.3-x86_64.rpmlist I then got past this specific issue. Thanks!
