Hi, When I do a scp from machine node1.oscar.cluster to server.oscar.cluster, I had no problem. Everything was fine. But when I do a scp from machine panda.oscar.cluster to node1.oscar.cluster then it comes up with an error message which is, 'Could not create socket pair: Invalid Argument. lost connection'. I dont know whats happening, both a & b are operationg under RedHat 6.2 and has the same version of SSH which is, OpenSSH 2.1.1.
Some of the debug messages as a result of a scp from server.oscar.cluster to node1.oscar.cluster are: SSH Version OpenSSH_2.1.1 Protocol version 1.5/2.0 compiled with SSL Reading config data /etc/ssh/ssh_config Applying options for * Seeding random number generator ssh_connect: get uid 0 get uid 0 anon 0 connecting to node1.oscar.cluster [10.0.0.40] port 22 Seeding random number generator Allocated local port 833 Connection established Remote protocol version 1.99, remote software version OpenSSH_2.1.1 Local version string SSH_1.5-OpenSSH_2.1.1 Waiting for server public key Recieved Server Public ky (768 bits) and Host Key (1024)bits Host node1.oscar.cluster is known and matches the RSA key Seeding random num generator Encryption type: 3des Sent encrypted session key installing crc compensation attack detector Recieved encrypted confirmation trying rhosts authentication Remote: Accepted by .shosts Sending command: scp -v -t /root/ Entering interactive session Received Disconnect: could not create socket pair: Invalid Argument lost connection SSH from server to node1 and vice-versa goes fine without any problems. I dont know what is the problem? Am I missing any files on the other machine? I have checked the rhosts, .rhosts, .shosts, /etc/hosts, ssh_config, sshd_config, and the public key files but didnt find anything unusual. Do let me know if I have to set a particular path or not. The scp on both the machines is in /usr/bin directory and I have the root privileges. Venkatesh __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
