My department has been given a rather healthy stack of PIII 350 PCs each with 160 MB ram and 3.2 GB Hard drive. I have set up OSCAR 2.1 on on Master Node with 4 slave nodes each using the above hardware as an experiment and that seemed to go well. The question is, will this collection of hardware provide an appropriate environment for a decent cluster with 12 PIII 350 nodes and a dual ZEON 2GHz Master Node? I'd appreciate any comments and/or recommendations.
