On April 3rd (right before ClusterWorld Expo), the University of San
Francisco is calling for volunteers to come down to campus and create a
"flashmob supercomputer."

They'll provide the power and networking. You provide laptops and
desktops -- whatever you've got (there are minimum hardware requirements,
however). Using Knoppix and a bunch of custom-written tools, they'll
essentially just have everyone plug in, boot up, and become part of a
massive cluster. They're going to try for a shot at the Top 500 list.
It'll be quite a challenge (particularly given the heterogeneous nature of
such a beast), but it'll be really fun if they actually make it!
Your laptop has been begging you to do more than just read e-mail and read
Slashdot; now's your chance. Stop by and be part of the first FlashMob
supercomputer!
