Having trouble finding the srpms for Oscar 3.0.
Is there a public version like there was for 2.x?

Glad to hear you ask... we love to see more interest here. So what would
it take?

First off, selecting a distribution to start working with that's close to
one of the currently supported ones. I'm guessing RHAW, possibly RHAS for
the head node. Using two different distros isn't really supported... I
only suggest this to save $$ on licensing, and it would require that RHAW
is in fact merely a subset of RHAS. That difference would need to be
verified though.

Next, rebuild all (or at least a testing subset) of OSCAR's SRPMS for amd64.
Test an install... find out where the differences are. I suspect that the
roughest transition points will be due to expanding to a different
distro. Different dependencies, command parameters, pathing,
etc. Differing Perl versions are an occasional headache too. The same
bridges also need to be crossed for ia64 anyway, so this portion of the
effort would be doubly beneficial, and is already being worked on somewhat
on the ia64 side.

Because OSCAR selects the most appropriate RPM automatically, this would
work just fine from within the same tree. Some work may need to be done to
make OSCAR wise to amd64 rpms/architecture.

Anyone else is welcome to comment if there's something I've missed,
overlooked, or under-detailed.
