Title: [Oscar-users] ldap authentication and ssh roaming without passwords !
What exactly are you trying to do?  Are you planning on porting OSCAR to Solaris?  Presently OSCAR does not support Solaris.

Standard OSCAR (HPC OSCAR) is not Single System Image - for SSI, you might want to look at the SSI-OSCAR project:

http://ssi-oscar.gforge.inria.fr/

Regarding password-less SSH, this is automatically done for you if you set up an OSCAR cluster on a supported OS.  You can either take a look at our code or just google for tutorials - there are tons of resources out there.

Subject: [Oscar-users] ldap authentication and ssh roaming without passwords !

Hi everyone,
1-
I was wondering if anyone has/is using ldap for authentication of users in
oscar.
Im thinking of deploying oscar in solaris 9 (sparc) but instead of private
network. I also want my users to be able to ssh into any compute node & work
from there on. (i.e. authenticate from server while logging on the
computenode and be able to ssh without passwords to other nodes.) btw how
does one config these passwordless sshing. (solaris docs say that I just
have to disable pam_ldap.so.1 module in pam.conf) or something.

I realize that this sort of thing is not elegant interms of  Single System
Image concept. but I need the ppl to be able to ssh from outside. I also
understand that I would be ripping most of the OSCAR inherent
features/design out.
Anyone has tried this.

2-
And yeah what about OpenFoam ? I heard some using it. Could that someone
share some experiences etc.. does it run smoothly etc.. any special config
in context of OSCAR etc..

Cheers.
