Hi Daniel:

On the headnode, it doesn't really matter when you install those C/C++ compilers.  If you do plan to push these out to the compute nodes, then you should install it to the image (/var/lib/systemimager/images/<image name>) prior to deploying it - it just makes life a tad easier.

We are still working on OSCAR 5.0 and it will be out when it is ready <grin>.  If you are comfortable with Linux and don't mind figuring stuff out, then you can also try out development code.  We have nightly tarballs available here:

http://oscar.openclustergroup.org/filebrowser/49/trunk

Please make sure you read the README before continuing.

(I do not understand your last question BTW)

Cheers,

Bernard

Subject: [Oscar-users] Install Oscar on CentOS 4.3

Hi all,

we have to install OSCAR on an cluster with CentOS 64Bit Kernel 2.6 and a lot of

Compilers (9x Nodes with two AMD Opteron 252)

Can I install the C and C++ Compiler on the Master-Node before creating the image or after installing OSCAR

Is there an new version of OSCAR out (5.0) and is there something we have to attend within the installation ?

Thank you

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Daniel Vogel
