Have you tried network booting the client after clicking on the "Setup
Network Boot" button?

That changes some of the settings on the DHCP server so that it will send
out client images.

Is the firewall on the server node turned off?

Unfortunately the oscarinstall.log files don't usually help with networking
problems...

Check /var/log/messages and any other networking based logs to see if there
are any reported errors. Otherwise you are probably going to have to break
out a packet sniffer to see if any traffic is going through.

It could also be a driver issue, I had a 3Com card a while back which had a
bad UDP driver and had this sort of problem. You might try checking the mfg
and seeing if they have an updated driver or if there are reports on the net
about problems with UDP.

Also, if you have a managed switch you might want to check and make sure it
is allowing all traffic on 192.168.0.* (udp and tcp)

Hi.
The two computers are connected via a private switch. I assigned the IP
number 192.168.0.1 to the network card in the server node which also acts
as a DHCP server. The client computer was assigned the number 192.168.0.2by the
DHCP server. Anyway, it seems that some basic communication between
tho computers is established.

Regarding the "Setup Network Boot", I clicked on it after I collected the
MAC address.

Did you click on the "Setup Network Boot" button in the "Setup Networking"
window (it is toward the bottom under "Boot Environment") before trying to
collect mac addresses?
