If NTP fails you may have problems in your network. It should not
cause ganglia to fail, it will just mean your clocks will drift (which
will cause other problems). Postfix is a mail program and it should
also not cause problems to ganglia.

Ganglia is a fairly simple program, there is a daemon on the client
node which has to be active and able to communicate with a particular
port on the server (which has two daemons, one monitor and one server
processor that listens for the monitors).

If Ganglia is failing, that means either the monitor daemons on the
compute nodes are not running (or are not set up right) or more likely
that there is a communication problem between the headnode and the
compute nodes.

Check and make sure the firewall on the server is off on the head
node, or ganglia will not be able to receive traffic from the compute
nodes.

On the NTP issue, did you define an outside NTP server (outside the
cluster network)?

Please include your oscarinstall.log files, preferably zipped. It
would help to know how you were trying to configure your cluster and
some of that information is captured in the logs.
