Hi everybody
Thanks for the suggestions.
I already looked at the post you suggested and the solution proposed there was
too messy that I decided not too use it.
Anyway, after I sent my last request for help. I updated my system again (I did
#yum update before starting the OSCAR installation) because there was a message
popping out in the desktop stating that there were 78 updates. Then I generated
a new oscar image. I use this new oscar image to repeat step 6 again. Even
though the nodes did not boot the messages on the screen were different this
time. Before the kernel panic appeared there was a line suggesting a problem
with selinux so I rebooted the nodes after I included "enforcing=0" in the
kernel line of grub. After that the nodes booted and I was able to continue to
step 7 and 8.
I got the following odd output in step 8 (justs the initial part of if)
Performing root test..
/home mounts [passed]
Preparing users tests
Performing user tests...
SSH server-node [FAILED]
SSH node-server Xlib: connection to "0:0" refused by the
server
....
Regarding the failure "SSH server-node" I checked
/var/lib/systemimager/images/oscarimage/etc/ssh/sshd_config and PermitRootLogin
is not set to yes (I did modify the file /etc/ssh/sshd_config in the head node
before the OSCAR installation).
To conclude, I can change the files
/var/lib/systemimager/images/oscarimage/etc/ssh/sshd_config and run step 8
again but I am no sure if this will be the end of problems specially because I
did not see any reference to Torque and Maui in the output of step 8 the last
time I run it.
I am wondering if the correct form of the image files like
var/lib/systemimager/images/oscarimage/etc/ssh/sshd_config is suppose to be set
automatically during the oscar install process. After all you make sure the
proper settings are in place in the head node before the OSCAR installation.
Maybe I have an underlying problem.
Thanks again for your help
