pakai native ubuntu driver or pakai ati punya driver? kalau belum cuba, then try guna the ati driver. generally u need to configure a few more options kat x server to allow full support for 3d & dvi. aku tak ingat specifically apa. its the same for nvidia cards as well. tapi kalau tengok forums ATI cards memang lagi problematic dari nvidia. sorry for no specific help syazwan.
