you mean like adding a linked resource to the workspace
(prefs/general/workspace/linked resource) ?
that didn't work for me also

I've added the MM core classes in the prefs under linked resources with the
keyword 'core' and Eclipse accepts it when I try to type 'core' into a
projects properties dialog. Maybe it's just that 'core' as a keyword gets
some special treatment from Eclipse.
