I don't want to be a downer, but thought you guys should reconsider the comments on LocalConnection in your FAQ's - you might get other's making similar comments:
"- LC does not work over a network - "
LC *does* work over lan/network. You need to preface your connection names with underscores. You should aslo define the AllowDomain method to return true. I have it working with the admintool over anything - browser, flash wrapper, IDE loaded from the web, cd, lan/wan, memory stick...LOL you name it ;)
"- You cannot detect a disconnect with LC(this is nessesary to keep SOS in front during connection)"
LC has onStatus events, which will recieve a connection error. I'm able to monitor an LC's connection when it comes back online and when it goes away.
Can you be more specific with "LC is too slow" ?
The only problem I've had with LC's is the cap on the amount of data you can transfer, but in working around that issue, I actually helped my app with large amounts of logging - so I'm not *too* upset about it ;)
Anyway, thanks for posting this! very interesting indeed

Hey OS-Flashers,
here is a proposal for the new corner "Closed Source Flash Tools" (that
I dont find from the mainpage anymore)
http://www.osflash.org/doku.php?id=closed_source_flash_tools.
It is a very power- and helpfull flashout-alternative (and some months
older). For all future FDT users it will be special good to know it...

POWERFLASHER.SOS 1.04 (SocketOutputServer) released
Tired of the Flash Output-Panel? http://sos.powerflasher.com
POWERFLASHER is a professional flash-team, witch build themselves some
tools for their own faster developing. Shortly before the release of
their FlashPlugin for Eclipse (FDT), becomes the new version 1.04 of the
free SOS (SocketOutputServer) public.
Flash movies can hardly be debugged outside of the Flash IDE by missing
"trace" output. With SOS Flash movies can also transmit messages from
the live system to the developer. The output window of the Macromedia
Flash IDE is very slow and scrolls under circumstance only approximately
80 lines automatically. Whereas a very fast console, which can represent
many lines output in shortest time, without the run speed of the program
is strongly affected, is available by SOS. SOS is developed as smart as
can and used up thereby only little main memory and is easy to serve.
Beside Flash theoretically each XML Socket able Client can use SOS such
as C, PHP, Java etc...
Advantages in an overview:
- Fast log output
- Smart UI
- Highly customizable
- Multiple clients
- Configurable commands to Clients
- Flash console protocol not limited to XML
New in version 1.04:
- contextmenu with more informations about logmessages from the
logclient
- the communicationsprotocol is switched to XML
- all messages and commands are well structured in the help
- AS2 API as example for SOS-pluginprogramming
- and much more like Log-Keys-Configuration, powerful search
functionality and visualisation, formatting, pluginability, folding and
filtering.
POWERFLASHER.SOS is for free. The license is Jobware* ;). *Jobware
means, that we are pleased about every professional developer, which
applies in our team.

If you have any wishes for the next version, feel free to mail me. We
will implement all good ideas. Thank you for blogging this news out...
